Assessment Directory
An assessment is an activity or task that is evaluated by a program or unit to measure learning outcomes or standards determining a level of mastery by candidates. Assessments can be aligned to the SHSU Conceptual Framework, NCATE Standards, CACREP Standards, SPA standards, SACS, TEA guidelines, or other accrediting entities.
A rubric is a criterion for judging levels of performance on an assessment. The rubric is developed and aligned to the assessment with a scoring guide that defines expected levels of success on the assessment.
The assessment is described in the course syllabi and evaluated by the rubric, which is distributed, electronically, to the candidate, scored in Tk20, and evaluated by the instructor. A data reporting instrument is developed to evaluate the activity or task and used for program improvement and program reports.
