Alison Crosby
Adjunct Instructor, Music Theory
Alison Crosby, soprano, earned her Bachelor's of Music Education from Abilene Christian University, where she received the "University Scholar" award. She also studied Choral Conducting at the graduate level under Dr. Loyd Hawthorne at Hardin-Simmons University. She has taught choir to grades 6-12 in both Texas and Oklahoma, and her choirs have received many awards and excellent ratings. She also taught private voice to her students. Alison directed several musicals while teaching at the secondary level, including Lil Abner, and has choreographed musicals such as Beauty and the Beast and Amal and the Night Visitors. She has appeared in many operas in Abilene, Texas, and performed with the Abilene Philharmonic.
Alison completed her Master's of Music Theory at the University of Oklahoma, where she studied composition with Dr. Marvin Lamb. She currently teaches on the theory faculty at Sam Houston State University.
