Full Biography

Seth McAdow has been on the faculty of SHSU since Spring 2005. In addition to teaching at SHSU, Mr. McAdow also maintains a private saxophone studio in the Spring and Woodlands area.

Mr. McAdow received a Masters of Music degree from Northwestern University and a Bachelors of Music from Sam Houston State University. Both degrees received are in Saxophone Performance. His major teachers are Scott Plugge, Frederick Hemke and David Cutting.

Mr. McAdow actively performs with many chamber groups. As a member of the Blackout saxophone quartet the group won 1st place in the wind division of the Coleman chamber music competition in 2005 as well as the Lake Ray Hubbard chamber music competition. As a member of the Antipodal saxophone quartet the group received 1st place in the Northwestern chamber music competition. Other awards include the Fisher Tull memorial scholarship in 1998 and the Phi Mu Alpha Outstanding Musician award in 2003.
