Freshman Council
The Freshman Council serves as the official voice of the Freshman class to the Student Government Association. It consists of five representatives from each college and all freshmen who are elected Senator in their second long semester.
Requirements:
- First year Freshman in good academic standing with less than 30 SHSU hours
- Attend two general senate meetings and two committee meetings
- Approval by two-thirds of the Senate
Duties:
- Writing legislation directly related to Freshman
- Publishing and tabling to increase Freshman participation in SGA and to increase general Freshman involvement on campus
- Hosting town hall meetings for Freshman about important issues and other events directly for Freshman
- Attend all Freshman Council meetings
- Fulfill all attendance, office hour, and additional requirements of Senators
