FIRST SUMMER SESSION

April 2012
    Advance Registration begins - refer to Term Guidelines for details.
May 21
MONDAY:
 Students graduating in August 2012 may begin submitting applications for degree to the Registrar's Office.
May 25
FRIDAY:
 Submit draft thesis/dissertation to Library for format and style review.
May 30
WEDNESDAY:
  • Residence halls open for occupancy, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Registration for undergraduate and graduate students - refer to Term Guidelines for details.
May 31
THURSDAY:
  • First class day.
  • Late Registration. Process class schedule changes. Refer to the Term Guidelines for details and deadlines.
  • Evening Classes Begin.
June 1
FRIDAY:
  • Last day to register and to process schedule changes.
  • Classes Meet.
June 5
TUESDAY:
  • Fourth Class Day.
  • Last day to drop without a "Q" and receive 100% refund.(This does not apply if only enrolled in one course - see resignation policy in Term Guidelines).
June 8
FRIDAY:
 Classes Meet.
June 11
MONDAY:
  Degree applications to be filed in Registrar's Office by students graduating in August 2012.
June 15
FRIDAY:
 Classes Meet.

FRIDAY:
  • Classes Meet.
  • Last day to complete a public defense of the thesis/dissertation.
June 27
WEDNESDAY:
  • Last Class Day.
  • Last day to resign and drop courses (SEE NOTES BELOW).

THURSDAY:
  Final Examinations.

FRIDAY:
  Residence halls close at 12:00 Noon.
July 2
MONDAY:
 12:00 Noon.  Deadline for filing grades with the Registrar's Office.

RESIGNATION NOTE:

Students may resign with a “W” grade from the 5th class day through the last class day, but prior to any final exams being taken or course completion.

DROP NOTE:

Courses may be dropped without a grade of "F" through the last class day, but prior to any final exams being taken or course completion. Students wishing to drop courses after the term’s online drop deadline must submit a drop request form, signed by the professor, to the Registrar’s Office. To process a "Q" drop after the online drop closes, students must come to the Registrar's Office, Estill Building Rm. 331 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. No schedule changes may be made after the deadline specified in the Academic Calendar.

 

SECOND SUMMER SESSION

TUESDAY:

  • Last day to submit complete, defended and signed thesis/dissertation to the appropriate academic dean's office.
  • First Summer Session ends.
July 4
WEDNESDAY:
  University Holiday.
July 5
THURSDAY:
  • First Class Day.
  • Late Registration. Process class schedule changes. Refer to the Term Guidelines for details and deadlines.
  • Evening Classes Begin.
July 6
FRIDAY:
  • Last day to register and to process schedule changes.
  • Classes meet.
  • Last day to submit final thesis / dissertation (defended and signed) and Route Sheet to the Director of the Library.
July 10
TUESDAY:
  • Fourth Class Day.
