Grant Resource - Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF)

Synopsis -This scholarship program was developed in honor of the late Curtis Mayfield to ensure that students pursuing a career in the performing arts receive the financial assistance to achieve their goals. The performing arts include theater, motion pictures, drama, comedy, music, dance, opera, marching bands, and other musical ensembles.

Size of Grant - CBC will award up to $3,000 each for up to 10 students.

Grant Resource - American Music Therapy Assocation (AMTA)

Synopsis - This scholarship program is for music therapy interns.  Eligibility: All undergraduate, undergraduate equivalency students and graduate students enrolled in a college or university program in music therapy approved by the American Music Therapy Association are eligible. All interns in clinical training are considered eligible through their parent academic institution. Applicants must be current Student Members of AMTA in the year in which they apply and the year in which it is granted.

Size of Grant - Two cash scholarships of $500 will be available for interns each year.

Grant Resource - American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) Foundation

Synopsis -The awards are granted annually to encourage talented young jazz composers.

Only completely original music will be considered. Arrangements are not eligible. Compositions which have previously earned awards or prizes in major national or international competitions are ineligible.

This program was initiated in 2002 with support from the Joseph and Rosalie Meyer Fund and is also supported by the Gibson Foundation and The ASCAP Foundation Bart Howard Fund.

Size of Grant -The winning composers will share $25,000 in ASCAP Foundation Awards.
