Internal Grant Program

Sam Houston State University’s INTERNAL GRANT PROGRAM has two components:

  • The FACULTY Research Grant (FRG) spans the three summer months (June 1 thru August 31, 2013) for up to $5,000.

         Due: Monday, October 15, 2012.

  • The ENHANCEMENT Research Grant (ERG) runs for twelve consecutive months (June 1, 2013 thru May 31, 2014) and can range from $5,000 to $15,000.

         Due: Monday, October 1, 2012.

Both programs are designed to help faculty develop research that may lead to external funding.  Please read the guidelines and application form instructions for specific information.

All applications should be filled out on a SHSU CAMPUS computer to ensure software compatibility.

Future INTERNAL GRANT SUBMISSIONS will be done through CAYUSE.

NEW: the page numbers suggested in both Internal Grant Application Forms are to assist with the correct ORDER only. If your application has fewer pages, do NOT substitute empty filler pages.

If your proposed research project requires IRB or IACUC approval, a BRAND NEW, research specific application must be filed. Proof of SUBMISSION (with review pending) must reflect the EXACT title of your proposed research project and cover begin-and end date of the grant. Board approval is NOT required until April 2013. Previously approved compliance applications bearing the exact title are INVALID.

Hand-delivery of all Internal Grant documents to the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is recommended. Deadlines will be strictly enforced.
