Bio

Monique Huntley is a registered nurse with over 22 years of experience in nursing and over 20 years in the medical community. Dr. Huntley has been in Academia since 2009 holding roles such as an Adjunct Professor at San Jacinto College-South Campus LVN-Paramedic to RN, University of Texas Arlington as Adjunct Faculty for the Masters of Science Program, and as a Academic Coach for Instructional Corrections for University of Texas Arlington. Currently, she holds the position of Assistant Director of Clinical Education. In the past, as a Family Nurse Practitioner, she worked autonomously managing patient care in a clinic setting.  

Her philosophy on teaching reflects the beliefs that the faculty is committed to assessing and creating a nursing program that will meet the needs of the individual in diverse communities. She strives to support the teaching programs developed by the institution in which she is employed in order to train the health care professional for tomorrow through teaching, exploring and community service.  She strives to create an enthusiastic environment for students so that they may have the ability to expand their knowledge through individual life experiences, education, research, and nursing.

Her scope of nursing has included working in vascular trauma, rehabilitation, medical surgical, geriatric, family practice, internal medicine, and women’s health nursing. Dr. Huntley intends to incorporate her Health Studies degree with her Nurse Practitioner skills focus on the health and needs of adolescent females.
