Professional Summary

Dr. Haase joined the Department of Political Science at Sam Houston State University in 2015. His research interests include disaster management, resilience, and public administration education. Dr. Haase has published articles in journals such as Administration and Society, Journal of Public Works Management and Public Policy, Natural Hazard Review, Local Governance, and The International Journal of Public Administration. His teaching portfolio includes online and face-to-face courses on international disaster management, disaster law and politics, community and social resilience, public policy, and program evaluation. Dr. Haase serves as the Director of the Master of Public Administration program and supports the community as a volunteer and trainer for Walker County’s Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T). Prior to his transition to Huntsville, Dr. Haase lived in Beirut, Lebanon, where he served as the Chair of the American University of Beirut’s Department of Political Studies and Public Administration.
