We offer two pre-engineering transfer programs described below.

Engineering Transfer Programs

1. 2+2 Transfer program in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering with the University of Texas at Tyler
   
   Engineers are visionaries which create and design new systems and products with economic, social and environmental impact. The Engineering Technology – Pre-Engineering program at Sam Houston State University prepares students with essential skills and a solid academic foundation in engineering principles for transfer into The University of Texas at Tyler Bachelor of Science Engineering Programs.  Upon acceptance, students can complete course work and achieve degrees in engineering disciplines such as civil, electrical and mechanical engineering at either the main campus in Tyler, TX or UT Tyler Engineering Center in Houston. 2. Physics/Engineering Dual Degree 3+2 program
   
   For the Dual Degree Plan the student completes three years in Physics at Sam Houston State University and the curriculum in an engineering field at a university with a recognized accredited degree program in the chosen engineering field. After successfully completing this program, the student receives two Bachelor of Science degrees, one in Physics from Sam Houston State University and one in an engineering specialty from the university with the recognized accredited engineering degree program. The applicable engineering specialties are aerospace, agriculture, chemical, civil, electrical, industrial, mechanical, nuclear, petroleum, and radiation protection engineering. For more information on this program, contact the Physics Department Chair, Dr. Joel Walker (936-294-4803, jwalker@shsu.edu ).
