November 28 & 30 and December 1, 2018

Let’s kick it! Join the ladies of The Wolves soccer team for 95 minutes of running, stretching, and scrimmaging their way through the high-pressure world of teenage-life. Sam Houston State University’s Department of Theatre and Musical Theatre presents Sarah DeLappe’s non-stop, high intensity play The Wolves in the Showcase Theatre November 28, 30 and December 1, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. The cast of 10 women push their bodies as they explore their friendships and their understanding of the world through the game of soccer. We see them thrive and struggle with the world around them, from winning a game to losing someone they love. The physical nature of soccer is used as a metaphor for the pressure these women face in their young lives. This physical intensity is what makes the play especially unique. To accomplish this, the cast worked with Ellie Davis, Assistant Coach of SHSU Women's Soccer team, along with some SHSU players. Together they worked to represent soccer in a realistic way. It was a challenge for the cast to learn these skills but they have excelled in bringing the physical action of soccer to the stage. In the end, the cast has created dynamic personalities that reflect the nature of a sports team and the pressures of teenage life.
