Vianey Gutierrez, M.A.
Vianey was born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in business and Marketing in the Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua. On 2014, she obtained her M.A. in Spanish from Sam Houston State University and on 2018, Vianey received her M.S. in Translation from NYU. She has been part of WOLC since 2013.
Teaching Elementary and Intermediate Spanish levels, gives her the opportunity to share her love for her culture and language with Sam students while enhances her understanding on second language acquisition to apply pedagogic strategies that benefits our students. Vianey is highly motivated to keep learning to be a better professor. She feels very proud to be part of SHSU community. My research interests are mainly in Translation Studies, procedures and strategies for teaching Translation, Second Language Acquisition and cultural components in Translation.
