Canadian citizen since 2004, East-European, having learned French before 4 years of age, in the conditions of francophone immersion through living and schooling in a French speaking African country, displaying near-native French quality of language.
Has begun to teach at Sam Houston State University (SHSU), since May 2019. Has taught: French 1411, French 1412, and French 2311 and French 2312 as intensive 4-weeks summer online courses, in the period (May-August 2019). For Fall 2019, is teaching, face-to-face, French 1411 and online – French 1412, within a regular 16-weeks semester.
Since August 2016, has taught French 1411, and since Spring 2019, has also taught French 1412, in a regular semester format, within the Lone Star College System - at Montgomery campus. Has taken and passed the LOTE- French content exam in April 2018, having begun - since spring 2018- the process of Certification with Texas Teachers’ of Tomorrow.
Approximately 13 years of experience as mainly, a part-time university lecturer for the Department of Languages, Linguistics and Translation of Laval University (Quebec City), in the French speaking province of Quebec, Canada, in the period 2000-2014.
Between March 2012 and May 2013, work experience gained also with a communication company operating as promoters of Industrial Trade Shows and editors of an industrial related magazine covering the province of Quebec.
Postgraduate Diploma (D.E.A. - i.e. M.A. degree) in French Linguistics obtained from the University of Bucharest (Romania). In the period 1997-2000: about three years of experience as a university assistant (i.e. lecturer) of General Linguistics and French, at the University of Galati, Romania. French language has been also taught in programs belonging to the fields of Sciences, Business Administration, Philosophy and History. One year of experience of teaching French for a medical training college, during my undergraduate studies. Skills and versatility acquired through a wide range of formal training– beginning with four years of high-school specialized in Mathematics and Physics studies, continued with one year of Philosophy studied in French, at the University «Notre-Dame de la Paix» (Namur, Belgium), followed, in Romania, by a Bachelor degree, in French and English (Language, Literature and Civilization), including Educational Psychology and the Didactics of French and English. Cognitive flexibility and skills have been also increased through the work experience: in addition to the diversified teaching experience, I had the opportunity of a ten months journey in the Office of the provincial Minister of Labor, being in charge with the ministerial correspondence, in Quebec City (Canada). Versatility has always been associated with the passion to share knowledge, with the ability to make the driest scientific contents available and appealing, and the determination to train students to excel. Combining a great ability to analyze and summarize, with creativity, along with the acquired capacity to meet very diverse challenges and a constant search to improve the quality of the courses, of the seminars, of the teaching materials and of the interactions with the students.
