Thank You, Softball!

Have you ever had a sport mold you into a better person? Growing up, baseball was a sport that I lived by. I would look forward to every practice, every game, and every opportunity I had to watch the wonderful sport. My freshman year here at Sam Houston was the first time I watched or even played slow pitch softball. I immediately fell in love with the game and the environment it created. I have never seen people become so close when participating in a sport before.

The compassion people have for this specific intramural sport is unreal. For those of you who have not played or watched slow pitch softball, I encourage you to sign up for it this semester and see for yourself the utopian environment it creates. Even if you believe you are not the best at softball - bit by bit you can turn any weakness into a strength. Intramural softball creates great and lasting friendships and makes preexisting friendships much stronger.

The thing I love most about softball is that it is not a one-person sport. A softball team is only as strong as its weakest player is - it’s not about the pieces but how they fit together. You win as a team and you lose as a team, more so than any other sport. For this semester, softball registration is open until Monday, March 19th a11:59 PMPM and the season starts on Thursday, March 22nd.  Softball has changed my life and created a better version of myself, I now challenge you to let it change yours.
