TEXAS Grant Renewal Requirements
The TEXAS Grant is a state funded program designed to assist Texas residents. As a TEXAS Grant recipient, you are eligible for a renewal award if all the criteria listed below are met.
TO RECEIVE A RENEWAL YEAR (RY) AWARD, A STUDENT MUST: |

✓ be a prior recipient of the TEXAS Grant |
✓ be classified by the institution as a Texas resident |
✓ be registered with Selective Service, or be exempt |
✓ have financial need |
✓ be enrolled in at least 9 hours |
✓ maintain satisfactory academic progress |
✓ not have earned a baccalaureate degree |
✓ not have been convicted of a felony or crime involving a controlled substance or under the law of any jurisdiction involving a controlled substance as defined by Chapter 481, Health and Safety Code (Texas Controlled Substances Act) |
