Reduce Profile Quota

Windows profiles have a quota of 250MB. This quota is in place to make sure that log in times are as short as possible while allowing account settings to "roam" across campus to other Windows 10 workstations. Occasionally, a warning is displayed stating that this quota is exceeded.

When this warning is received, a utility will be available from the system tray (where the clock is located on the Task Bar) that will allow one to see where the largest files are stored on the profile.

Profile Exceeded System Tray Icon

By double-clicking on this icon, a window is presented that shows all files in the profile. A sort option is available so that the files can be sorted by size.

The utility will give you the information on where to locate the file in the "File Name" section. Use File Explorer (Windows key + E or right-click on the Start Menu and select File Explorer) to the location and delete the files that are no longer needed or relocate them to OneDrive or your S Drive.

You may need to show hidden files to find all items in your profile. To do this, click on the View menu, then place a checkbox next to Hidden items.
