Mission

The TRIES Animal and Plant & Pest Diagnostic Laboratory is a multi-disciplinary animal and plant health and pest diagnostic center. The Laboratory specializes in the diagnostics of animal diseases, specifically those of parasitic origin that may have established through the movement of invasive insects and global climate change while the Plant Pathology Laboratory, diagnoses plant health and pest-related problems (including soil/cyst nematodes). Our simple goal is to provide a timely diagnosis of the problem and appropriate recommendations of control. This laboratory also serves as a training center for undergraduate and graduate students within the SHSU community and across the state of Texas.
