Presidential Search

Help us find the next great SHSU President

The search is underway to find the next president of Sam Houston State University to replace President Dana Hoyt, who announced her retirement in February, 2020 after a decade of service.

Starting in February, 2020 and continuing through July, 2020, an Advisory Search Committee, made up of faculty, staff, student and community representatives, will work with an executive search firm, Academic Search, to conduct a national search with the goal of identifying a small number of exceptionally-qualified candidates.

The Finalist(s) will be invited to SHSU to visit with key stakeholders and interview with Chancellor Brian McCall. The Chancellor will select a sole finalist to recommend for approval by the Texas State University System (TSUS) Board of Regents.
