Parking Instructions Announced For Saturday

With commencement ceremonies taking place this weekend, along with the Sam Houston State University football team’s quarterfinal game with Colgate University on Saturday evening (Dec. 12) at 11 a.m., special parking instructions will be implemented for Saturday only.
The map below shows the parking availability for each activity. Please note that the lots south of Elliott T. Bowers Stadium, located at Bearkat Village, will be open for general football parking.
Parking spaces will be in high demand, and traffic will be congested on campus at several times throughout the day and evening. Therefore, visitors are encouraged to carpool when possible and be prepared to walk a little distance to their particular event.
Guests should remember not to park in any of the privately owned apartment complex lots south of Bearkat Village for either graduation or football.
The West Lot adjacent to Bowers Stadium is reserved for Bearkat Champions suite holders and season chair back reserved ticket holders who have purchased playoff series packages. West Lot VIP parking passes, along with tickets, are ready for pickup now.
A special “will call” pickup window is open at the Bowers Stadium West Side Ticket Office through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Season ticket and premium seat holder parking passes must be picked up in advance in order to access the respective lots on game day.
The box office will open at 8 a.m. on Saturday for both sales and will call. However, only those with West Lot parking passes in hand will be able to access the lot. Patrons who arrive on Saturday without tickets or parking permits will not have “in and out” privileges to pick up these items.
The will call window will be exceptionally busy on game day, so fans are encouraged to pick up tickets in advance or be in line early in order to ensure that you will be in a seat in time for kickoff.
Tailgate Alley activities will begin at 9 a.m. Fans looking to access the designated general public parking lots should plan to enter the area through Bearkat Boulevard, because Bobby K. Marks could possibly be one-way travel only, depending on what time graduation traffic is cleared.
For more information about tickets to the Sam Houston vs. Colgate NCAA quarterfinal game, call the athletic ticket office at 936.294.1729. The ticket office is located on the west side of Bowers Stadium, facing campus.
