Sam Houston State University alumna, Daryl Howard, is currently featured in GoDaddy.com’s global video campaign “Icons of our Tribe” that celebrates independent professionals across the globe, chosen to represent their areas of practice.

As a professional artist for over 50 years, Howard’s large woodblock prints inspired by traditional Japanese art, have been included in exhibitions throughout the U.S. and her work is a part of numerous permanent collections.

Her story, as a creative entrepreneur, is now featured in an online video as part of the “Icons” series. According to the company’s website, Howard proves “age is just a number and life is better when you can turn your passion into a lifelong business.”

The alumna received her BFA from SHSU in 1970, then studied art in Japan where she learned traditional techniques. By the time she left, Howard was well on her way to perfecting the painstaking demands of carving and printing. She then received her MFA in 1976 from the University of Texas.

“I am incredibly proud to have been selected by GoDaddy. It was an amazing experience working with their awesome team on this project,” Howard said. “My story and passion are now being shared with the world.”
