Tremendous support to the Bearkat Emergency Fund is helping students stay on-track to their graduation path. The fund eases temporary monetary shortfalls and gives the student the ability to pay rent and utilities as well as buy food. Individuals interested in supporting students through the Bearkat Emergency Fund are encouraged to give a gift today at shsu.edu/giving. “Throughout these difficult days, donors like yourself have risen to confront this challenge and for that we thank you. I am certain that your generosity has helped to alleviate some of the burden that this crisis has placed upon our students—and upon us all,” President Dana Hoyt.

“Despite working, I was having difficulty paying my rent and getting transportation to my job. Without assistance from the Bearkat Emergency Fund I wouldn’t have a roof over my head; I am so grateful for the help.” — Jared Cruz, Junior (Pre-Nursing Major, Public Health Minor)
