Free 'Pop-Up' Flu Shot Clinics For Students
Nov. 23
SHSU Media Contact: Emily Binetti
As flu season approaches, the Sam Houston State University Student Health Center wants to make sure free flu vaccinations are widely available to students by opening ‘pop-up’ flu shot clinics at residence hall locations on campus.
Tuesday, (Nov. 24) from 12-2 p.m., the first pop-up clinic will open at Lone Star Hall in the outdoor breezeway area.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the best way to avoid the spread of flu-like viruses, such as Influenza, is by getting vaccinated every year. The most common way people contract the flu is from exposure to other people with flu-like symptoms.
Pop-up flu shot clinics will take place from 12-2 p.m. at the following locations:
- 11/24 – Lone Star Hall
- 12/1 – Piney Woods Hall
- 12/8 – Sam Houston Village
For the safety of our entire university community, you will be required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing at all campus events.
