Professor Named Academy Of Economics And Finance Fellow

Robert Stretcher, a professor in Sam Houston State University’s Department of General Business and Finance, was recently awarded the highest honor of the Academy of Economics and Finance, the prestigious AEF Fellow Award.
The award recognizes extraordinary lifetime contributions in economics and finance, particularly those contributions to the academy. Stretcher’s highlighted contributions include extraordinary accomplishments in teaching, research and service to the academic discipline.
Starting his academic career in 1984, Stretcher teaches in a variety of finance areas, specializing in corporate finance and financial markets. He has received several teaching accolades, including the Academy of Educational Leadership's Distinguished Teaching Award. He also maintains an active research agenda in corporate finance, financial markets and instruments, and financial education. In addition, he has published numerous finance cases and has written a case textbook published by Prentice-Hall.
His roles have included leadership positions in multiple academic organizations and editorial leadership for multiple finance and economics journals. Within the academy’s board of directors, he has held several positions.
