The Smith-Hutson Scholarship program was established at SHSU in 1996. Now reaching its 25-year anniversary, the program has awarded 668 Bearkats to date.
Plenty of time and effort goes into managing and growing SHSU’s most generous and prolific scholarship opportunity.
Last fall, 55 scholars arrived on campus ready to tackle the next chapter of their academic journey.
Learn how scholars have utilized their degrees and knowledge to advance in their chosen career path.
Thanks to new grant funding, many students are paid to engage in scholarly work with a faculty mentor on campus.
