Getting Started

Internships offer exciting opportunities to gain valuable experience in the field, but they require a significant amount of preparation and commitment. Students are encouraged to start the process early in their college careers by visiting with internship faculty and staff to identify opportunities that fit your needs and to complete the application process, which frequently requires significant documentation and lengthy investigations.

Meet the Requirements

To qualify for an internship:

  • Students must have a Major in Criminal Justice, Victims Studies or Security Studies
  • Undergraduate Internship Applicants should have completed 24 semester hours toward their degree requirement prior to the semester of internship
