Spotlight on Doctoral Candidate:

Jasandra Oeffinger M.A., LPC is Co-owner of Human State of Mind Counseling in the Heights area of Houston. Jasandra is working on her Ph.D. in Counselor Education at SHSU. She uses her counseling skills in play therapy and sandtray as aids in her interventions as a "child whisperer, parent up-lifter, and adult journeyer." Congrats Jasandra on your new practice.

Danielle Marks, M.Phil.Ed., M.S.Ed (Doctoral Candidate) and Dr. Garza-Chaves published an article titled: Adoption Counseling: Improving the Parent-Child Bond in the Play Therapy Magazine. The article is an exploration of filial therapy models in working with foster and adoptive families.

Naomi Timm, MA., LPC, LMFT (Doctoral Candidate) and Dr. Garza-Chaves published an article titled: Beyond the Miniatures: Using Gestalt Theory in Sandtray Processing. The article was published in the Gestalt Review.
