Research Grants
SPUR awards summer grants to faculty-undergraduate research teams in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. If you have a project that you believe is worthy of grant funding, here’s what you should do:
- Faculty-undergraduate research teams should apply for a Faculty and Student Team Award (FAST Awards) through the website EURECA (Enhancing Undergraduate Research Experience and Creative Activities). The FAST Awards are for summer research funding. Each funded undergraduate team supports 1-3 students working together on a single scholarly or creative project under the mentoring of either one faculty member or an interdisciplinary team of faculty members.
- EURECA always receives more applications than they can fund. Only one or two research teams from CHSS typically receives funding. That’s where SPUR kicks in. If you do not receive funding for your summer research proposal from EURECA, SPUR will consider your application for funding. We will notify you by March 31st whether your proposal will be funded.
