The ASEEN program has produced 20 mobile training units for hands-on instructions on solar and wind energy. The training units were designed and developed with the help of SHSU undergraduate students in the Agricultural Sciences and Engineering Technology Department.
Currently, two designs are available to conduct experiments on the road: Advanced ("large") training units on wheels preferably for outdoor experiments were made with two 60 W solar panels, and small "tabletop" training units using a 25 W solar panel, which can be utilized outdoor or indoor using artificial light or wind (light bulb or fan) when weather conditions are not favorable. For wind energy experiments, the electronics of the large training units connect to a portable commercial wind turbine.
