Absence Notification
A student can submit an absence notification request form when they have missed class. Proof of absence must be included with the request (e.g., doctors note, travel itinerary, obituary). Excusing an absence is at the discretion of the instructor. The student is responsible for making up any missed assignments, requesting extensions, or requesting an incomplete. Absence notification requests must be submitted within ten (10) business days from the last date of absence.
Student Grievances
In support of providing educational and other opportunities in a climate conducive to personal and professional development, the university has developed procedures for students to pursue grievances within the university community. Students are able to submit academic and non-academic grievances that are handled by various offices across SHSU.
