First-Generation students are trailblazers who join SHSU to change the narrative of their families. Many first-generation students are from families with lower socio-economic status who must work while they attend college. Your generous donations will help our first-generation students as they transform their lives and their families through higher education. Your donation will:

- Help establish our mentoring program, so our first-generation mentees will receive guidance, motivation, and role modeling from mentors.
- Provide our first-generation students with professional development sessions and team-building events.
- Enable us to purchase and provide first-generation students with first-generation stoles to wear at graduation in celebration of achieving their bachelor’s degree.
