  College of Education Announces 2026 Distinguished Educators of the Year

  With a proud legacy as a pioneer in teacher preparation, Sam Houston State University has long been at the forefront of shaping Texas’ finest educators. Year after year, Bearkat teachers do more than teach; they ignite change, inspire growth and leave a mark on the world.   Two Doctoral Graduates Recognized by National Organization for Student Success

  Two graduates from the Sam Houston State University College of Education’s Higher Education Leadership Doctoral Program were recently recognized by the National Organization for Student Success (NOSS) for their outstanding writing.

  SHSU Charter School Receives A Grade from TEA Ratings

  The Sam Houston State University Charter School received an overall A rating for the 2022-23 academic year from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), placing it among the top 10% of Texas school districts.
