The Attendance Initiative is reported by the 12th class day in the long semesters, fall and spring. The Attendance Initiative is not conducted during the summer semesters.The Attendance Initiative is a mandated report, submitted through Sam Menu. From the Sam Menu go to Faculty Reports. Once you get to faculty reports you will see two + bars on the right. Now, select GUI programs and link into the ATIN01MG - attendance initiative program. At this point, you are required to submit personal information to inform the system of the courses you are currently instructing. A list of your class(es) will appear. Go into each class and view the class roster. Place a check mark next to the name of a student ONLY IF THEY HAVEN’T ATTENDED CLASS. (If you were to check everyone that attended then it would be reported that NO students attended your class.) The SHSU student attendance is reported to the State of Texas.
