Weblog - Call for Content

Democracy Day - SHSU is seeking content for a running weblog addressing current events concerning democracy both here and abroad. Our goal is to have a continual stream of content that explores the pressing issues confronting democracy at the local, national and international levels. Accepted topics are varied and can include specific contributions related but not limited to: the Bill of Rights, the arts and democracy, global perspectives on democracy, diversity in democracy, gender in democracy, environmentalism and democracy, immigration and democracy, democracy and violence, social media and democracy, IT and democracy, or psychology and democracy. Submissions should emphasize ways in which readers can effect change about the issue.

Content can be in written or video format. Written content should be no more than 1000 words and video content should be no more than 5-7 minutes. Submissions must include the name(s) of contributors, contact method, a title for the post, the text of the submission (or if the contributor wants to create video content a brief summary of the topic), and a short bio of all contributors. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis so there is no deadline. Upon receipt and acceptance the contributor(s) will be informed when the post will be published. Please email submissions to ddsubmissions@shsu.edu.
