Choose a class at the Campus Rec:
Fitness: personal training, workshops, certifications, weight rooms and cardio equipment.
Intramural Sports: flag football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, racquetball, golf, and tennis are just a few of the sports offered.
Club Sports: recognized student organizations that promote common sport and/or recreation related interest.
Facilities: our nine recreational facilities across the SHSU campus include the Rec Sports Center, Johnson Coliseum, University Camp, RSC Pool, Pritchett Field Complex, Intramural Sports, sand volleyball courts, Raven Nest Golf Course, and McAdams Tennis Courts
Aquatics and Swimming: our outdoor, seasonally-heated pool includes four 25 yard lap lanes. Enjoy the leisure area which can be used for water volleyball, water basketball or certain intramural and special events. Additional amenities include a sun tanning area, lounge chairs and covered tables.
Outdoor Recreation: adventures trips, clinics & workshops, climbing center, equipment rental, Bearkat Camp, and the challenge course!
Free programming at Campus Recreation includes:
- Use of the Campus Recreation Center
- Free climbing and fitness classes during Demo Days the first week and a half of each semester
- Intramural Sports are Free
- Special Events are Free unless designated
- Outdoor Clinics and Special programs are Free unless otherwise noted
- Free climbing every Thursday from 6-8pm
